Make your Own Pattern Tissue Paper - Tutorial

This is such a fun way to make your own Tim Holtz style tissue wrap paper.  My good friend Julie brought me some sandwich wrap paper from Mikey’s Gyros in Moscow, Idaho to play with.  I got out the new Bird Feather stamp set by Tim Holtz and a Ranger black archival ink pad.

Next - stamped a random pattern all over the sandwich wrap paper and let it dry.

Flip the paper over and color in some of the images with Faber Castell Pitt india ink markers. This will give the paper a more muted, stained glass look.

For added texture tear and crumple up the paper.  I applied it to a page in my art journal with Ranger Studio matte medium.

For intense spots of color – use Faber Castel gelatos, spritz with some water and blend.

Added lots of doodling and shading with Sharpie Xtra Fine White Poster Pen and Moonlight Gell Pens.

I found this song title by Madonna “Love is a bird.  She needs to Fly.”    Can’t wait to make more custom tissue paper!
