Relay for Life Latah County

Shawna and I were at the U of Idaho Kibbie Dome last night giving our time to the event on behalf of Paper Pals. We brought 2 make-n-take cards for the participants to make during the night long event. We saw lots and lots of familiar faces and were so inspired by all of the teams. The luminary ceremony was very touching and beautiful. We were touched by a young man's testimonial about his Mom's battle with cancer. He told us to not feel awkward when you find out someone has cancer. I think a lot of us feel just that...scared, unsure and awkward. But he told us that it is not about you, it is all about the person with cancer! How true! Some of the most meaningful things that people did for his family and his Mom were to send cards; she read them over and over again. As stampers and crafters, this simple action of just making a card and sending a note with your prayers and well wishes could make a big difference to someone battling cancer.

We at Paper Pals were inspired by this and would like to have our customers help us start a card making group for the local Hospice Centers & Hospitals and the American Cancer Society. If you are interested in co-organizing and leading this group please call or email myself or Shawna.

Hopefully next year we can get a Paper Pals Team together! Anyone want to join? We could scrapbook all night and raise money for the amount of pages we complete!
