Well, Everyone I'm back!I had a wonderful time in Maui this past week. I arrived home yesterday morning on the red-eye from Kahului. Eric was happy to have me home. I had a wonderful time. But I was happy to find my own bed. I now am recovering from the flight home and doing laundry.
Maui was wonderful!!!! I went to the beach every morning and I still have no tan. Bummer. I was afraid to burn and ruin my trip, so I applied LOTS of sunscreen. I guess I am forever meant to be white. This picture is of Kamaole Beach where I went swimming every morning. I stayed at the Kamaole Beach Royale. Which was right across the street.
I had lots of fun we tried to do something fun
everyday after working. I tried snorkeling. I had a lot of fun once I got used to wearing the gear. We saw hundreds of fish. I hope that my pictures turn out with that cheap underwater camera. I bought some postcards of the fish we saw just in case. I had lots of fun at the Maui Ocean Center. I could have watched the sea turtles for hours. This is one of the turtles that would let us pet him. But I think what he really liked was being fed. They had some touching pools for star fish and different coral and sponges. And I actually touched a sea erchant. Lets just say it was squishy and that it will be the last time I touch one!We also took some time and went to the botanical gardens. It was beautiful to see some of the flowers. I loved the smell of plumeria. It just seemed to linger in the air along with the smell of sea salt.
We also did get some work done. Which is why we went. Our trip up to Hana was cancelled due to some bad rain storms on the north shore. They closed the road and grounded all the helicopter flights. So I didn't get to see the beautiful waterfalls or the seven sacred pools. I was so looking forward to cliff jumping too. I guess I will just have to go back. We did however go up to Pia'a (?) and got to experience some of the northshore. Here is a picture outside Mama's restaurant where we ate. I think all I ate all week was fish and pineapple. It was heavenly! I just love how this picture turned out.
All and all I had a great time but I am happy to be home. And I now have tons of pictures that I need to scrapbook!
